初中生石蕗 大哉擁有超群的運動能力。5年前，大哉與父親乘小型船向海中心出發，在海上燃起的黑色火焰。在那個中黑色火焰出現了的巨大的怪獸，父親和船員們都沉下海中。不過，那時巨大的機械人出現，保護了大哉。可是誰都沒相信生還者大哉的話。儘管如此大哉從此反復練習體能，以防怪獸再次出現。 這天，大哉再提出怪物存在的「證據」，隨即天變地異，鐵獸和魔獸大襲海灣，大哉單人匹馬挑戰兩個怪獸。眼看必成犧牲品之時，「大空魔龍」出現。魔龍的頭與其它部位的發行下，超級巨人「Gaiking」的身體組裝完成。而在少女露露的教導下，大哉操控「Gaiking」擊敗怪獸，保護海灣民眾之餘，更證明大哉所言非虛。 在大空魔龍船長那得知敵人是Darrieus軍後，為了守護地面，大哉靠別了母親和朋友，前往異世界Darrieus，並搶救認為已死的父親。
