岡島綠郎，本來是一位普通的日本公司職員，被公司犧牲拋棄後選擇在一個名為Lagoon商會的傭兵船隊裡做見習水手的故事，地點設在一座虛構的泰國海濱城市—羅阿那普拉(Roanapura)。Lagoon商會的雇主多為聚集在羅阿那普拉的各個黑幫勢力，任務一般是在海上運送各種各樣的“貨物”或特殊情形─協助別人逃跑。Lagoon商會主要的運輸工具是一艘配備魚雷的海上快艇和一艘經歷過無數次大修的紅色轎車。
