主角豬熊柔是天才柔道少女，她在柔道大師豬熊滋悟郎的教育下，已經擁有世界級的實力，但一直被滋悟郎作為秘密，滋悟郎逼迫柔必需在柔道大賽上一鳴驚人，贏得奧運金牌並獲頒國民榮譽獎，但柔只想做個「普通的女子」，成天研究烘焙和料理，並夢想著談一場戀愛。柔之所以排斥柔道其來有自，她從小就展現超凡的柔道才華，五歲那年就把自己的父親──柔道高手豬熊虎滋郎摔出去，虎滋郎因此出門修行，一去不回，而柔的母親玉緒為了找他也經常日本各地奔走。柔將家庭破碎歸咎與己身，不願踏入柔道界。
