Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. was the North American branch of anime producer Geneon Entertainment. The company began as Pioneer Entertainment, who began releasing anime in 1993. In 2003, the company was sold to Dentsu and changed their name to Geneon. Geneon was one of the largest anime distributors, along with ADV Films, Bandai Entertainment, FUNimation Entertainment and Viz Media.
