本作的故事發生在20世紀末，英國國教騎士團「Hellsing」是專門殲滅對抗大英帝國和英國國教的反基督怪物的特殊機關，其王牌是拿著常人無法使用的大口徑手槍的吸血鬼阿爾卡特。阿爾卡特是服從於賀魯希沽家族的古老吸血鬼，在一次任務中轉化了被狹持的女警西洛斯，之後兩人就以主僕的關係進行任務。在接下來的一次任務中，因為與政教對立組織「梵諦岡法皇廳第13課」發生轄區衝突，對方的王牌——安德魯神父向身為吸血鬼的兩人展開攻擊，所幸在全面開戰前，賀魯希沽當家伊特古拉與法皇廳接洽，中斷了戰鬥。
