本作描述一個為了與「世界的宿敵」戰鬥而從一名少女 宮下藤花體內出現，名為「Boogiepop （ブギーポップ）」的人格，和各自懷抱不同想法的少年少女們的故事。 故事以一連串女高中生離奇死亡的事件開始，宮下原來隱藏著第二重人格「Boogiepop」而變得行為怪異，究竟宮下與這些死亡事件的關係是……？
