主角伊藤開司自1996年3月開始，來到東京3年仍無所事事，過著每天和人賭博、喝酒的墮落生活。 由於過去的同事古畑向帝愛集團以一個月20%的利率借了30萬元，但古畑潛逃1年後，被欺騙而做保的開司莫名背上385萬的債務。 為了償還債務，開司接受遠藤的邀請登上名為艾斯波瓦魯之船，參加限時賭局的規則：參與者須向主辦方高額借貸的巨款，以標著「剪刀、石頭、布」的撲克為道具，奪取對手身上的星星，賭局結束時，牌未用完及星星少於3顆者將判定失資格。而星星超過3顆者，將其欠款一筆勾銷。
