莎拉在學院就讀期間深受到大家的喜愛，但沒多久在她最高興的生日宴會當天，接獲父親不但破產且客死在印度的消息，讓莎拉所擁有的一切化為烏有，從備受禮遇的公主成為飽受欺淩的學院裡女傭，然而她在世界上已無親無故了。 莎拉還是以真誠的態度待人，以樂觀的心看待自己的遭遇，以豐富的想像力讓一件件事情像有了魔法般地實現，使得她看起來就像真的公主一般，在失去一切後依然獲得大家的喜愛。
