When Ross was an officer of the Earth's Chicago Police Department an incident with a robot left him crippled and his partner dead. He now uses a cybernetic leg to walk and has a distrust of robots. Ross is later transferred to Mars Police Department where he becomes Naomi Armitage's new partner.<br /><br />
