An Imperial senator and the princess of Alderaan, as well as a figurehead for the Rebellion. She was captured by the Empire above Tatooine when her Corellian corvette Tantive IV was transporting the Death Star plans to a rebel base, and was later rescued from aboard the Death Star by Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.<br /><br />
