故事發生在每千年回歸一次的彗星即將造訪的一個月前，日本某個深山的鄉下小鎮。女高中生三葉每天都過著憂鬱的生活，而她煩惱的不光有擔任鎮長的父親所舉行的選舉運動，還有家傳神社的古老習俗。在這個小小的城鎮，周圍都只是些愛瞎操心的老人。為此三葉對於大都市充滿了憧憬。 某一天，她做了一個變成男孩子的夢。在夢中三葉有著陌生的房間、陌生的朋友，而眼前出現的則是東京的街道。三葉雖然感到困惑，但是能夠來到朝思暮想的都市生活，讓她覺得神清氣爽。另一方面，在東京生活的男高中生瀧也做了個奇怪的夢。他在一個從未去過的深山小鎮中，變成了女高中生。「尋找從未見過的你」，兩個陌生人就這樣開始了尋找彼此的歷程。
